I, Amanda Morgan, am committed to complying with the terms of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and to the responsible and secure use of your data. I have a legitimate interest in processing personal data to provide counselling services. The purpose of this statement is to let you know what personal information I collect and hold, why and how long it is stored for and your rights over your personal data.

I take the security of the data I hold about you very seriously and as such I take every effort to make sure it is kept secure the following ways:
When someone visits my website, I use a third-party service, Weebly, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. I do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way that does not identify anyone. I do not make, and do not allow Weebly to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting my website. I use legitimate interests as my lawful basis for holding and using your personal information in this way when you visit my website.

- If you have had therapy with me and it has now ended, I will use legitimate interest as my lawful basis for holding and using your personal information.
- If you are currently having therapy or if you are in contact with me to consider therapy, I will process your personal data where it is necessary for the performance of our contract.
How I use your information
- Initial contact. When you contact me with an enquiry about my counselling services, I will collect information to help me satisfy your enquiry. This will include your email and telephone number. Alternatively, your GP or other health professional may send me your details when making a referral or a parent or trusted individual may give me your details when making an enquiry on your behalf. If you decide not to proceed, I will ensure all your personal data is deleted within 7 days. If you would like me to delete this information sooner, just let me know.
- While you are accessing counselling. Rest assured that everything you discuss with me is confidential. That confidentiality will only be broken if I am concerned for your safety or the safety of someone else you know, or if I am required to by law/a court of law. I will ordinarily discuss this with you first, unless safeguarding issues prevent me from doing so. I reserve the right to contact your GP if I have any concerns for you.
- I will keep a record of your personal details to help the counselling services run smoothly. These records are kept securely on a password protected computer, iPhone, email account and I also use Sign In Scheduling cloud software to store and process personal data on my behalf. Sign In Scheduling gathers and stores data in compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA and ISO 27001 for complete peace of mind.
- Once counselling has ended. Once counselling has ended your records will be kept for 7 years from the end of our contact with each other and are then securely destroyed. If you want me to delete your information sooner than this, please tell me.

- I ensure my browsers and operating systems are up to date.
- I encrypt portable storage devices (e.g. USB sticks).
- I password-protect all my devices with strong passwords, using a different password for every website or app.
- I use secure home or business Wi-Fi only, never public Wi-Fi.
- I physically lock away all my passwords and devices when not in use.
- I keep minimal client data on my devices.
- My iPhone has a data removal app allowing me to wipe the data if it’s stolen.
